SID on Golf : Review of Donnay Evolution Mallet Insert Putters
SID Rating :
**** 4/5 Cut Price Performer!

Once upon a time, not so long ago (Winter 2001) the Odyssey and myself fell out which led to the DF660 hibernating for a while. The Donnay proved to be an excellent replacement having that bit of extra weight to give the harder push required for our fluffy winter greens. Best of all the Donnay costs less than £20, so you're not risking a great deal if you don't get on with it.

The mallet design is pretty similiar to the Odyssey Dual Rossie favoured by Nick Faldo all those years ago (1996?). As you can see from the picture above these putters are really easy to line up which is no bad thing. The sheer weight of the head helps encourage a smooth swing.

Insert on the Donnay Putter?

The insert is a little harder than that of the Odyssey but as mentioned before that's ideal for our winter greens.

Summary

Simple mallet design, insert - very cost-effective. A bargain.
