Pro Forged Irons

4/5! Good,
maybe too good for me!
I got lucky with these
having picked them up for a song second-hand.
They're a little war-weary, they've been
knocked about a bit but they're still
gorgeous irons. Designed with the better
player in mind but in a wierd way they're
game-improver irons. Huh? Bear with me,
these irons don't offer much in the way
of forgiveness they force you to improve
your game to use them therefore they're
for the game-improver!
Yes, you have to put a
good swing on the ball to get a result
and I personnally don't use the long
irons except off a tee peg but when you
pure hit the short irons you are rewarded
with towering shots that drop into the
green like a bird of prey homing in on
the flag. That's something you don't see
very often (a bird of prey eating golf
flags) but you get the picture, don't
you?
The makers' specs of these
irons no longer seem to be on the web as
Mizuno have a sucessor to the original
Pro irons imaginatively called the Pro II.
What I can say is about these is that
they are forged cavity muscle-backed
irons for the better player (so what are
you doing with them Sid?). If you want
easy to hit irons with maximum
forgiveness, these are they, if you want
an iron that rewards a good swing with a
true shot these are the ones!
Summary
Great irons for
the better player but a high handicapper
such as my good self can learn to live
with the mid to short irons so give 'em a
try but don't put no money down until
you've hit some shots with them!!! Also
bear in mind that Mizuno have a variety
of iron designs that offer more
forgiveness as well as blade designs that
are for the scratch players of the world.
