The Titleist 975D Titanium Driver - Aaahh, isn't she lovely!

This is just a superb driver. My Dad had this in his bag but prefers the straightness of his strong 3 wood to the less controllable driver. So it found it's way to my bag a few weeks ago and guess what? It's bloomin staying there, oh yes sir!

Let me tell you the many ways in which she pleases. First there's the pure cosmetics - classic pear-shaped head, titanium but not balloon on a stick titanium. Then there's that sound, she fairly sings when you connect with the ball. Then there's the ball flight, even with 11 degrees the ball comes off the face like a bullet. It doesn't carry for ever like other premium drivers but if the fairways are hard it rolls, rolls, rolls and then rolls some more. It's awesome!

I was fortunate enough to be told by my doctor that I needed to exercise more and lose some weight in a hurry. What did I do you say? Let me tell you. I got out on that golf course some more that's what, an hour or so a day, more or less every day for a fortnight and I had this little beauty to accompany me, ha ha ha.

Enough about me, tell me about the dingdang driver you say. In six words : it makes your ball go further, I can honestly say that I'd never been as far up the fairways on my home course, on some long par fours I was leaving the fairway woods in the bag and going at the greens with irons and hitting 'em as well to boot.

There's just one occasional niggle and I'm going to live with it whether Dad wants it back or not (possession is nine tenths of the law, remember). The bad shot I get with the 975D is a pull, it's partially down to the closed face of the club and partially down to my bad swing but just once in a while I'm well down the left. However, I'll gladly take a pull against a slice any day of the week.
